Busy bees and wasps!

I've been crazy busy cranking away at the new house and quilts with deadlines!
I took a couple of days off about 2 weeks ago when I was attacked by yellow jacket wasps twice in a 3 day time span. They are hiding in the ground these days, so you don't know they are there until you tick them off. The first time I found a nest by my front door when I was watering the pots on the front step. The second time they attacked medown by my mailbox while I was mowing. That time they got me something like 6-8 times! It took me a week to figure out where the nest was, since they were on me before I knew what had happened! And all in bad places to scratch in public. Luckily I'm not allergic to them, I did take 3 Benedryl each time though, just in case!
I finished Mason's Wild Kingdom. The zebra and the backing are Minky, so they are totally, fabulously soft and fuzzy! I can't find the SD card the pics are on though, so that will have to be another post. I feel like I spend a lot of time these days just looking for where I put things.
I've also been working on a t-shirt quilt for a girl who wants to be a Marine Biologist. I was told her favorite color is cerulean, so I had a brain flash that I would make the quilt all the colors of the ocean, in an ombre pattern.
It started with this pile of fabrics:
Which I turned into this:
I was thrilled when I found some GORGEOUS turquoise curly Minky for the backing. I quilted and finished it up last Thursday, so I have to get the final pics downloaded from the camera to share. I'm told the recipient FREAKED OUT when she opened it. She totally loves it, so I'm thrilled.
On the house front, I've gotten quite a bit accomplished, but haven't taken many photos yet since I've been spending all my working on the house stuff, planting the hillside, and quilting like a fiend!
I do have pics of my new desk area. I got a killer deal at Pottery Barn on the floor sample. Lorrie and I spent two days this week quilting, shopping, eating and chatting. When Lorrie saw my cupcake stuff, she said "We have to put the desk area together!" so we did.

ridiculously red pillar in the photo above).
Lorrie also spotted the darling cupcake cookie jar at World Market and exclaimed "This is perfect for your cupcake stuff, you need it!" She was right. I totally needed a cupcake cookie jar to complete my vignette.

That's all I have for now. I got a lot accomplished this week, including going through some of my stash for my FABRIC SALE in Algonquin, which is fast approaching!!! The sale will be 9-5 Friday and Sat, and 10-4 Sunday.
I hope to see you all there!
Tell all your friends, it will be worth the trip!
